Sony Ericsson has announced two new phones for 2009: the W205 Walkman and the S312 Snapshot phones.

The Sony Ericsson W205 Walkman phone is an entry-level slider that should debut at a very affordable price. It comes with a rather small 1.8-inch TFT 65K color display, 1.3-megapixel camera with video recording, Bluetooth, FM radio with RD, Walkman player, 5Mb internal memory expandable via Memory Stick Micro (M2) of up to 2GB in capacity, and the dual-band GSM/GPRS connectivity. That’s right. No EDGE or 3G, but that’s the reason why we believe that this will be one of the more affordable Walkman phones on the market. It’ll be available starting sometime in 3rd quarter of 2009.

Meanwhile, the Sony Ericsson S312 Snapshot phone is a compact candybar mobile that was previously referred to as the Sony Ericsson Athena. It features a 2-inch TFT scratch-resistant 262K color display, 2-megapixel camera, Bluetooth, 15MB internal memory, Memory Stick Micro support, and dual-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE connectivity. As part of the Snapshot series, it comes with a dedicated video camera key, illuminated imaging shortcuts, and a host of other imaging enhancements. It’s scheduled to debut in second quarter of 09′ with a yet to be announced price.

This pair probably won’t save a flatering Sony Ericsson, but nonetheless, it’s a decent offering that could sell well if priced right.
