samsung solid b2100

Samsung Tocco – Emphatic Style With Strong Statement

The most striking feature of this handset is its 5 MP camera which has many features like the autofocus and all the other standard camera settings. One of the most interesting thing about this handset is the ability when a person is smiling and automatically taking a picture of that person. Called the ‘Smile Shot’ feature, this ability is certainly a marvellous asset in this mobile phone. The Samsung Tocco also has an exceptional video recorder and a video player supporting the formats of H.264, H.263 and MPEG4. The video taking capabilities are further enhanced by features like the video stabiliser and the video editor. There is also a feature called the 3G video calling and this feature enables the user to see the person he is making the call to. This mobile phone also has a fantastic music player supporting the following formats: MP3, AAC, AAC+. There is also an FM radio.

Connectivity in terms of the Samsung Tocco is too good with many features being present in them. There is the HSDPA or the high speed downlink packet access which speeds up data transfer and there is also the feature of Bluetooth with A2DP as well as EDGE and GPRS. All these features make the task of sharing the data very easy and thus this handset is very very good when it comes to data transfer.

This is also a good memory phone with an internal memory of up to 240 MB. There is also the option of a microSD card slot supporting up to 8GB. The talktime of this phone is up to 3 hours and the standby time is up to 250 hours. The user can also browse the internet using the WAP 2.0 xHTML browser as well as the HTML browser.

This is a good messaging handset and has all the messaging features such as: SMS, EMS, MMS and then there is also instant messaging. There is also the email feature and the user also has the facility of not having to type the entire length of a word due to the predictive text feature installed in the mobile phone.

This is a fantastic phone and has a wonderful feature called the drag and drop TOUCHWIZ GUI. This feature gives the user instant access to all the major functions of the phone just at a touch. This handset has a personal touch to it with features like photos and birthday reminders. The Samsung Tocco also has a technology called the ‘differential tactile technology’. This technology gives the user of the handset a pleasing sensation when he selects an item on the Tocco.

The sensation is further sensed by the weight of this handset which is 91 gms and thus the Samsung Tocco is an extremely light phone to have around. The dimensions of this phone are: 95.9 x 55 x 11.8 mm. Hence due to this size the handset is also extremely easy to carry around and does not pose much of a problem when it is to be kept in a bag or in a mobile holder. The beauty of this handset is heightened by the 2.8 inches TFT colour screen with 262k colours and a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels.

Hence a very handy phone to have around, the Samsung Tocco is a fantastic mobile device which comes with all the latest features and the facilities which makes this handset an entertainment package as well as a marvellous mobile phone.

Samsung U800 Review

Being the successor to a wildly successful mobile phone can’t be easy. Before the Samsung U800, was even released there were clamours of anticipation as expectations for it to surpass its predecessor in every way were common. However, surpassing something like the Samsung Soul mobile phone was always going to be a tough order to live up to, yet in many ways, the Samsung U800 Soul b somehow managed to do just that, and not in a very conventional way either.

Features of the Samsung U800

Convention dictates that when it comes to size, smaller is better. In this regard, the Samsung U800 lives up to that by going even slimmer than the Soul. At a meagre 9.9 mm thin, it still manages to not appear fragile, mostly due to the metal exterior that has a brushed, instead of smooth finish that somehow seems to further emphasise ruggedness. All in all, as far as appearances and size go, the Samsung U800 works well with its dimensions and exterior, and looks sleek and sturdy at the same time.

Not much has changed with the TFT LCD display, which is pretty much akin to the one on the Soul, offering 16 million colours at QVGA resolution. Of course, this does go down well with most, and the final product is graphics of great quality. Much of the features, including menus, text, and so on are fully customisable, making it a treat to use and fool around with.

One area that blows not just the Soul, but most other mobile phones, totally out of the water is the internal memory that chocks up to a huge 1 GB. To all appearances, Samsung decided against going the common way of low internal memory and options for high additional storage with microSD cards (still an option, however). Still, this change allows for even greater storage capacity and reduced reliance on external storage, which is always a good thing.

All in all, the rest of the features are pretty standard, with a web browser, FM radio, HSDPA support as well as GPRS/EDGE, and finally Bluetooth or USB. Unfortunately, the Samsung U800 is not perfect, and does not come with a 5.0 megapixel camera as many expected it would. Instead, it offers a 3 megapixel camera that is still non-too-shabby and really not bad.

A New Age

If Samsung plan to make the Soul get thinner with every generation, pretty soon there will be no room to fit anything in. However, that said, Samsung has gone an interesting path by choosing to not focus on the camera. No matter how one looks at it however, the U800 is a nice looking, solid, and really pretty reliable among mobile phone deals.

In the end, it is a completely satisfactory phone that can be purchased for either its good looks, or great customisability. By combining convenience and utility, there is a great debate as to whether or not the Samsung U800 does completely live up to expectations, however, in the long run, it really seems as though it did.

The phone will ship with either 8Gb or 16Gb of internal memory, competing with the iPhone, but unlike Apple’s offering it can also take a memory card packed with up to an extra 16Gb.

The phone also features A-GPS (advanced GPS) meaning that information will be stored alongside your photographs telling you exactly where in the world you took them. Ideal for creating photo map books via Google or other similar sites.

FIFA 2008 and Asphalt are two games that come with the phone.

Phone gamers will love the Sony Ericsson F305

We all know how big the games industry is and how it took on the movie world but now we see many more cell phones targeting the youth audience and also the mobile games business. The Sony Ericsson F305 will be loved by gamers as it’s not only a phone but also has a touch of Nintendo Wii like controls thanks to “Motion Gaming”.

The graphics on games for cell phones is getting better every month and now Sony Ericsson aims to add a bit more fun to playing games on a cell phone, the F305 features dedicated gaming controls and horizontal gameplay so you can play games more interactively. You get three games preloaded, these are Jockey, Bass fishing and Bowling that can be controlled with a swipe or swing of the phone.

The Sony Ericsson F305 may be taking a few ideas from the Nintendo Wii when it comes to getting more involved in gaming, its proven that the movement of your arms in a game will burn more calories than just sitting there moving your thumbs. This is good news for the future generation as any extra exercise is something better.

The Nintendo Wii has straps to stop you throwing the controller by mistake; will the Sony Ericsson F305 have something similar?

You might not have to move your hand much on the F305 to control the game, but some players can go over the top with their actions and its just these type of people that may need the phone strapped to their hand. We do not know if this feature will ever be needed for motion mobile gaming but we will find out soon enough.

Gameloft will create additional motion games for the F305 and PlayNow will have over 50 more 3D and 2D games, this is a good start for gaming on this device. The Loud stereo speakers will help get you in the gaming mood and other features include an expandable memory slot, Bluetooth and a 2.0 megapixel camera. Would you want to play motion games on a cell phone?
